Roof replacement

When is it time for a new roof?

When repairs are no longer enough. Ethan will tell you honestly which side of that line your roof is on when he gives you a free estimate, and Regnier Roofing handles the replacement from start to finish.

A replacement with Regnier Roofing covers the job from start to finish: help choosing your materials, the new shingle roof itself, and soft or damaged decking replaced along the way, so the new shingles go down on a sound deck.

Ethan works on homes and businesses, and his Google reviews describe what that looks like. One customer wrote that he "started when promised" and was "quick, efficient, professional, and reasonably priced."

How a shingle roof goes on

Every layer, eave to ridge

These are the layers of a typical asphalt shingle roof, from the deck up. Watch them go on one at a time in the roof build on the homepage.

1Decking

The solid base over the rafters. Soft or damaged decking gets replaced, so the new roof sits on something solid.

2Drip edge

Metal edging along the eaves and rakes that carries water off the roof edge and into the eavestrough.

3Ice and water shield

A self-sealing membrane along the eaves, where melting snow and ice dams hit a roof first.

4Underlayment

A layer over the rest of the deck that backs up the shingles if water ever gets past them.

5Shingles

A starter strip at the eave, then every course laid from the eave up, each row overlapping the one below.

6Ridge vent and cap

Vents along the peak let warm, moist air out of the attic, and cap shingles close the ridge.

FAQ

Roof replacement questions

What does a roof replacement estimate include?

A detailed breakdown of what your roof needs, with no obligation to go ahead. Help choosing your materials is part of the job, and soft or damaged decking can be replaced before the new shingles go on. One customer's Google review reads: "Price matched quote given."

What kind of shingles does Regnier Roofing install?

Asphalt shingles. Ethan Regnier is a shingle roofing professional, and his job photos show shingles in grey, charcoal and tan on houses and quonsets. Ask him about colours and styles when he gives you your free estimate, and he will help you pick what suits your home.

Do you replace rotten or soft roof decking?

Yes. Roof decking replacement is part of the work Regnier Roofing does on re-roofs and new builds, so soft or damaged decking can be replaced before the new shingles go on. Ethan will tell you what he finds, so your new roof goes down on solid decking instead of over the problem.

Do you replace roofs on businesses as well as homes?

Yes. Regnier Roofing works for local homeowners and businesses in Prince Albert and the surrounding communities. Describe the building and the roof in your request, or call 306-941-8197, and Ethan will get back to you to set up a free, no-obligation estimate for the job.
